A ‘six-pointer’ against Orlando Pirates

Amazulu are driven by the desire to make their excellent season, to date, pay off with a place in the premier continental club competition.

“The preparations have been going well and all we need to do is pick up ourselves after the loss against Baroka and get back to winning ways. It will help us to get three points because these are the people that we are fighting more or less the same race with so a win will be more like a six pointer for us,” says Majoro.

Milestones beckon

Majoro is within touching distance of becoming the top scorer of all players still active in the DStv Premiership. The 34-year-old striker has hit the back of the net 87 times in a storied career. He insists, however, that he is focused on helping Amazulu achieve team milestones and secure a second place.

“As a player you are as good as your last game and with the players that we have in the squad no one is guaranteed a position, so whenever you are given an opportunity you must always do better for the team,” he says.

“And I believe we are on the verge of making our own history as AmaZulu players by reaching the highest number of points in the league. So we would really love to extend that and finish in a comfortable position.”

Majoro thriving at Amazulu

Majoro has enjoyed a good season and goes into the final three games of the campaign having notched up eight goals in 17 league starts.

Amazulu have three games remaining in the league season, the first of which will take place on Thursday against one of Majoro’s former teams, Orlando Pirates. Kick-off at Orlando Stadium is set for 5pm CAT.
