But now, according to AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu, there has been no approach to sign Hanamub by Pirates.

With their cross town rivals Kaizer Chiefs already believed to have wrapped up three signings ahead of the next season, Pirates seem to not want to be left behind in the industry of doing their business early in the transfer market, with the club now thought to have already been pressing ahead in an effort to get the deal of Hanamub wrapped up as soon as possible ahead of the new season.

As it stands, Pirates already have the likes of Innocent Maela and Paseko Mako to name but two players who can do a job for the club from left back. But, that hasn’t stopped the team’s management from going in search of more depth in that position. It was previously reported by this publication that the Buccaneers were willing to offer money plus one of Bongani Sam or Tebogo Tlolane for the players services.

AmaZulu have not received offer from Pirates

However, addressing the media earlier on Monday, AmaZulu president sought to set the record straight about the links between Hanamub and Pirates. Zungu came out and said that there were in fact, no offers coming from the Sea Robbers for the Namibian international and that all of the talk regarding a transfer were actually all been driven by the media.

If that is indeed the case, that would come as a big blow to the Pirates fans who have been reacting positively to the prospects of boosting their defence with Hanamub, a player who has been so impressive for AmaZulu during the previous season. This, however, does not rule out the possibility of the clubs involved starting negotiations for the player in the near future as the window is still at its infant stages.
