Mamelodi Sundowns, like all teams around the world, have to create space for new players ahead of the upcoming season. Brian Onyango is said to be on his way out of Kabo Yellow.

Onyango, 29, joined the DStv Premiership champions as a free agent in October 2020. With six championships but only nine appearances this season, the Kenyan is said to be leaving Sundowns when his contract expires at the end of the month.

“SABC Sport can confirm that defender Brian Onyango will be leaving Mamelodi Sundowns when his contract runs out on 30 June,” SABC Sport reported.

“The public broadcaster understands that with the player’s initial deal coming to an end a decision was taken not to extend his stay further – but the centre back will look back at his spell with The Brazilians as a hugely successful one,” the report added.

According to this new report, coach Rulani Mokwena is keen to retain Lebusa’s experience.

“Sundowns are in talks with his management team to tie him down to two more years because he is a valued member of the team,” a source told the Citizen.

“Coach Rulani values his experience at the back and he has also backed him to get two more years at the club after doing well last season despite struggling with injuries,” the source added on the Sundowns star.

Feburary joined Kabo Yellow from Cape Town Spurs (formerly called Ajax Cape Town), five years ago. The towering goalkeeper spent loan spells at Cape Umoya, Moroka Swallows and AmaZulu. The 28-year-old from Strandfontein, Cape Town, finally made his debut for Sundowns against Swallows in April. With his deal ending on 30 June, the club has confirmed a new deal.

Remember Bryce Moon at places like Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana? Reports say he is keen to buy his former club Maritzburg United.

Motsepe Foundation Championship (MFC) side Maritzburg United narrowly missed out on qualifying for the PSL/MFC Promotional-Relegation Play-Offs. According to new reports, former Sundowns defender Bryce Moon wants to buy the club.

“I have big plans for Maritzburg United if I do take over. I wanna be the David Beckham of South Africa if I’m given a chance,” Moon as quoted by FARPost.

“We are back in those discussions now with Maritzburg United, and we will see what happens in the next two weeks. I want to own that team myself,” the former Sundowns star concluded.
