Junior Mendieta’s stats in the PSL this season make for pretty decent reading. The Argentine playmaker has eight goals and eight assists, making him one of the most productive players in the division, and that’s a very healthy return for an attacking midfielder. However, look a bit closer, and those numbers are slightly flattering. Mendieta’s overall influence on football matches isn’t as pronounced as that of Sibongiseni Mthethwa or even Ibraheem Jabaar at Stellenbosch.

That potential deal would be even sweeter if Chiefs can lure Khanyisa Mayo over from the Mother City too.
