The international break along with the MTN 8 final meant that there was an extended break from the Absa Premiership but the action is back on Tuesday, with a few clubs desperate to make up for lost ground.

Eyes will be fixed on the Soweto giants as they will be looking to take winning momentum into their much anticipated derby on Saturday.

Cape Town City FC v Bloemfontein Celtic, Athlone stadium – 19:30

Cape Town City FC will look to get over the disappointment of failing on the final hurdle of the MTN8. They host Bloem Celitic at the Athlone stadium on Tuesday. A win will see the home side top the league.

Mamelodi Sundowns v Kaizer Chiefs, Loftus Versfeld – 19:30

The big midweek clash is at Loftus Versfeld where Mamelodi Sundowns will be meeting Kaizer Chiefs. They sit fifth and sixth respectively on the log and it’s a big one for Mamelodi-born George Lebese as he takes on his old club in his home town.

Chippa United v Maritzburg United, Nelson Mandela Bay stadium – 19:30

Wednesday sees Chippa United do battle with Maritzburg United at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth. Chippa will be desperate to add to their solitary win so far this season while the visitors hope to recreate their early season form which saw them top the log for much of the opening fixtures.

Free State Stars v Ajax Cape Town, Goble Park – 19:30

Neither Free State Stars nor Ajax Cape Town will be happy with their current positioning on the log and they will both want to change that as they meet at Goble Park on Wednesday. They currently sit at 11th and 13th respectively.

Orlando Pirates v Platinum Stars, FNB stadium – 19:30

One club that desperately needs a win or ten is Platinum Stars who face the tough task of travelling to FNB stadium to meet Orlando Pirates. The side from the North West remains the only club without a win this season as they sit at the bottom of the league table.

Baroka FC v Golden Arrows, Peter Mokaba stadium – 19:30

There is also the top of the table clash at Peter Mokaba stadium where this year’s surprise packages Baroka FC and Golden Arrows do battle.

AmaZulu v Polokwane City, King Zwelithini stadium – 19:30

AmaZulu round up the midweek fixtures when they host the struggling Polokwane City. The visitors haven’t registered a win since their opening game when they shocked Sundowns in their own backyard.
