Let’s be honest, Pitso’s move to Ahly was a massive career risk considering the culture and enormous expectations at the club. But “Jingles” knew what he was doing.

HOW PITSO MOSIMANE GAINED FAST SUCCESS AT AL AHLY

As Africa’s greatest ever club with 10 CAF Champions League titles, the pressure, and expectations at Al Ahly are unforgiving.

Pitso Mosimane joined the club in October 2020 to replace the Swiss René Weiler. Nobody quite imagined the immediate success the Kagiso-born coach was about to achieve in Cairo.

In under two years, Pitso Mosimane has won an extraordinary four titles while also winning two bronze medals at the FIFA Club World Cup, as well as a silver medal in this year’s CAFCL final.

Ptiso’s achievements at Al Ahly:

  • CAF Champions League X2
  • Egyptian Premier League title
  • Egyptian Cup
  • Club World Cup bronze X2
  • CAF Champions League silver medal.

With the accolades above, “Jingles” became an instant legend and Africa’s greatest ever coach with three CAF Champions League trophies including his title with Sundowns in 2016.

Additionally, no other African coach has ever won two back-to-back bronze medals at the Club World Cup.
