Pitso Mosimane gets more qualified, undergoes FIFA Pro Licence training

Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane revealed that he had undergone a CAF/FIFA Pro Licence lesson overseen by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane revealed that he had undergone a CAF/FIFA Pro Licence lesson overseen by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

Mosimane took to social media on Tuesday to post pictures of himself “virtually” attending the Pro Licence tutorial hosted by Arteta.

“Situation right now! Today’s CAF / FIFA Pro Licence lesson with Coach Mikel Arteta, his Management Philosophy. Attending whilst driving to Alexandria for tomorrow’s tough game. Top Coach,thanks for educating,” Mosimane said.

Pitso Mosimane, who holds a UEFA A licence, was invited by CAF in March 2018 to complete his CAF Pro Licence which is the equivalent of UEFA’s Pro licence, the highest qualification in football management.

Pitso Mosimane, who previously coached Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana, took over at the helm of the Egyptian giants in October 2020.

He completed the ‘treble’ shortly after arriving and this season led Al Ahly to third place in the FIFA Club World Cup.

However, things of late have turned more challenging.

Al Ahly lie third in their CAF Champions League group at the halfway mark.

They are also playing catch-up in the Egyptian Premier League and trail bitter rivals Zamalek.
