Pitso Mosimane convinces star Al Ahly midfielder to stay for another 24 months

Egyptian giants Al Ahly have renewed the contract of one of their midfielder stars Amr El-Sulya for another 24 months.

Egyptian giants Al Ahly have renewed the contract of one of their midfielder stars Amr El-Sulya for another 24 months.

According to the KingFut website, El-Sulya joined Al Ahly in 2016 and has become one of the team’s most indispensable players, making 223 appearances across all competitions, scoring 21 goals and providing 20 assists.

Since joining the Red Devils from UAE’s Al-Shabab, the 31-year-old has won 12 trophies, among those: two CAF Champions Leagues, five Egyptian Premier Leagues and two Egypt Cups.

With his current contract set to expire in June 2024, Al Ahly have moved swiftly to hand him a two-year contract extension, further confirming his status as one of the team captains.

El-Sulya is also a prominent figure for the Egypt national team having not missed a single call-up since November 2019.

His next assignment will be helping the Pharaohs secure their fourth participation in their Soccer World Cup when they face Libya in back-to-back qualifiers for next year’s tournament in Qatar, starting on Friday, 8 October.
