Al Ahly have confirmed Pitso Mosimane has tested negative after his second COVID-19 test. The update follows after the first test was positive. The latest second test means Mzansi’s legendary coach will be on the bench in Saturday’s FIFA Club World opener against Mexico’s C.F. Monterrey.

PITSO MOSIMANE’S TEST NEGATIVE FOR COVID-19 AHEAD OF FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP OPENER

While South Africans were left with hands on heads last week, the good news have now arrived. Al Ahly have announced that Pitso Mosimane has tested negative, hours before the Red Devils take on Monterrey in the United Arab Emirates on Saturday night.

The club posted the exciting news on their website.

“The management of the team’s mission in Abu Dhabi addressed the organizing committee of the Club World Cup in the Emirates to confirm the result of the second medical smear for Musimani and to clarify his position on the team’s leadership in today’s match from the stadium.

“Al-Ahly will face the Mexican team FC Monterrey, the champion of “CONCACAF”, at 6:30 pm today at Al Nahyan Stadium in Al Wahda Club in Abu Dhabi, as part of the first round of the FIFA Club World Cup in the UAE.” – Al Ahly concluded.

SUNDOWNS TO FACE PITSO MOSIMANE AND TAU WITH AL AHLY IN THE CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

As The South African previously confirmed, the South African champions were drawn in Group A of the 2021/22 CAF CL showpiece. The group includes the Egyptian giants, Sundowns, and a bit oddly, the two Sudanese clubs Al Hilal and Al-Merrikh.

The game that matters the most, with Mosimane and Tau, will be on Friday 25 February against Al Ahly.

Favourably, Kabo Yellow will first battle the two somewhat minnows of the group in Pretoria and Omdurman, before making the big flight to Cairo to face Mosimane and Tau on 25 February. Read the full story here.
