Africa’s greatest ever coach, Pitso Mosimane, has said it is not possible for him to coach a European club in the future. He will rather settle for the Gulf region.

PITSO MOSIMANE TO COACH IN EUROPE? IT WON’T HAPPEN

The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach has emerged as the best coach in the continent after becoming the first man to lift the CAF Champions League three times, one with Kabo Yellow and two with Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

The South African further went on to become the first African coach to scoop two bronze medals at the FIFA Club World Cup. Is it enough success for European clubs to call his agent?

“Those are fairytale stories that will never happen,” Pitso Mosimane said via Soccer Laduma.

“I know for a fact that it will never happen but in life, never say never. I was speaking to Dwight Yorke one time where we worked at the World Cup alongside Owen Hargreaves, Jay-Jay Okocha and all these pundits.

“And Dwight said to me forget about Europe. If we scored goals in the Champions League and created so much history at Manchester United, we have UEFA badges that we obtained, and you will never get it,” Mosimane added.

DECISION TO SETTLE FOR AFRICA AND GULF REGION

The former Bafana Bafana coach concluded to agree with Yorke, before also adding that he has set his heart on making his name in Africa and the Gulf region [Arab states that include Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates].

“Are you telling me that of all the black coaches in Europe, nobody can coach? Are you serious, I mean really?

“All these guys who won the Champions League and all that, it is unbelievable.

“So, “Ke sharp ka Europe bafowethu [I’m fine with not going to Europe], let me stay on the continent and probably the Gulf [region] because there is also an opportunity, at least our footprint is in the Gulf,” the 57-year-old from Kagiso concluded.
