Abdullah Al-Mogren scored the only goal of the game in the 73rd minute to hand Al Ahli all the points at Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium.

The win took Al Ahli back to position four on the Saudi First Division League log after temporarily moving out of the automatic promotion spot.

Interestingly, Mosimane’s charges are three points behind log leaders Al-Faisaly who they beat 2-1 last weekend.

The good news is that Al Ahli will move to the summit of the log if they win their game in hand against Al Jabalain next Tuesday as they have a better goal difference compared to Al-Faisaly.

The Kagiso-born mentor remains unbeaten since his arrival at Al Ahli – he has recorded six wins and five draws after 16 rounds of matches.

On Tuesday, Al Ahli unveiled Gambia international Modou Barrow after they signed him for an undisclosed fee from Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

Barrow’s arrival at Al Ahli could simply spell an end to reports that both Lorch and Tau could link up with Mosimane in Saudi Arabia.

Of course, Mosimane has already dismissed reports linking Lorch to Al Ahli, saying he and Dr Irvin Khoza would have been the first to know.
