Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahli sign African star, neither Lorch nor Tau!

Al Ahli Saudi have added a FIFTH African star to the ranks in order to boost their chances of gaining promotion to the Saudi Pro League.

And it’s neither Thembinkosi Lorch of Orlando Pirates nor Al Ahly’s Percy Tau

On Tuesday, Al Ahli unveiled Gambia international Modou Barrow after they signed him for an undisclosed fee from Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

Barrow (30) is an experienced attacker who played in England for many years before moving to South Korea.

He played for Leeds United, Swansea City, Nottingham Forest and Reading among other England teams.

This season, Barrow, scored 13 goals and provided eight assists in 28 competitive matches, and that was enough for Mosimane to sign him for Al Ahli.

AL AHLI: END OF THE ROAD FOR LORCH AND TAU?

Barrow’s arrival at Al Ahli could simply spell an end to reports that both Lorch and Tau could link up with Mosimane in Saudi Arabia.

Of course, Mosimane has already dismissed reports linking Lorch to Al Ahli, saying he and Dr Irvin Khoza would have been the first to know.

Prior to Barrow’s arrival, Al Ahli had four African players on their books in Franck Kom (Cameroon), Ryad Boudebouz (Algeria), Youssef Abdelli (Tunisia), and Bastos (Angola).
