According to reports, Egyptian giants Al Ahly have parted ways with the Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau.

Tau had completed a permanent transfer to Al Ahly from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer, signing a three-year contract at the Red Castle.
The 28-year-old had a good start to life in Egypt, scoring eight goals and providing six assists in 31 games across all competitions.

His contributions inspired the Red Devils to the 2021 CAF Super Cup title and to reach the CAF Champions League final this season.
However, in recent months things have been rough at the Reds for Percy Tau, having not scored or assisted in the domestic competitions since November of 2021.

Rumours suggested the former Mamelodi Sundowns man was preparing to leave the club after ex-head coach Pitso Mosimane parted ways earlier this year.
While neither the club nor the player confirmed the rumours, SuperSport claimed that the Reds have agreed to say goodbye to Tau.
So, where to next for Percy Tau?
A return to Mzansi with a club able to afford his wages? Maybe a return to the Premier League? Another Egyptian side perhaps?
It appears most likely that he will head to Belgium where be also previously played, with Anderlecht the most likely destination.
But none of that is confirmed, so watch this space!
