Al Ahly completed the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion forward Tau on Thursday afternoon, making the 27-year-old the club’s third summer signing.
Tau signed for an undisclosed fee.
Al Ahly have also brought in Karim Fouad and Luis Miquissone.
Tau will reunite with his former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane in Cairo.

Tau will become only the second-ever South African to wear the Al Ahly shirt after Phakamani Mahlambi and the third in Egypt overall after Gift Links.

At Brighton, Tau made just six total appearances while featuring against the likes of Manchester City and Leicester City.
On the international stage, Tau has 30 Bafana Bafana caps to his name in which he scored 13 goals and was part of the South Africa squad which knocked Egypt out of the 2019 AFCON.
