Eswatini protestors have blocked Orlando Pirates’ CAF Confederation Cup opponents Royal Leopards from entering the Mbombela Stadium.

Politics have affected football. Orlando Pirates’ CAF Confederation Cup opponents Royal Leopards were prohibited from entering the Mbombela Stadium. The protest was delivered by Eswatini nationals against the country’s King.

According to the report, the protestors traveled from the neighbouring nation to stop the team’s entry into Mbombela in an effort to embarrass Eswatini King Mswati III.
The video of the live scenes was posted by Mzansi’s leading journalist Robert Marawa on Twitter a few hours before the match kick off.
“Scenes outside the Mbombela Stadium ahead of the #CafConfederationCup game between Royal Leopards (Eswatini) vs Orlando Pirates..f.ans saying they r from the Kingdom & will NOT allow Leopards into the venue in an effort to “embarrass the King for his atrocities,” Marawa said.
Marawa soon posted an update that confirmed Royal Leopards managed to find a way to sneak into the stadium. The match will there go ahead as planned.

BUCCANEERS GET WARNED
In an earlier report, the Soweto giants were sent a warning from Royal Leopards’ coach Edwin Matsebula, saying the DStv Premiership champions should not take them lightly.
“The problem with these so-called big teams when they hear that they are playing Royal Leopard from Eswatini, they say it is a small team,” Matsebula said via the Sowetan.
“They then take us for granted, but when they come inside the field of play, they find a different team altogether.” Read the full story here.
