Orlando Pirates’ CAF Confederation Cup opponents have warned the DStv Premiership giants they will underestimate them at their own risk.

CAF CONFEDERATION CUP: ROYAL LEOPARD VS ORLANDO PIRATES

Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids’ men are hours away from taking a big step towards the 2022 CAF Confederation quarter-final if three points can be collected against Leopards.

Ahead of the game at the Mbombela Stadium, Leopards coach Edwin Matsebula said it is easy to take his team lightly.

“The problem with these so-called big teams when they hear that they are playing Royal Leopards from Eswatini, they say it is a small team,” Matsebula said via the Sowetan.

“They then take us for granted, but when they come inside the field of play, they find a different team altogether.”

LEOPARD HAVE ADVANTAGE OVER THE BUCCANEERS

According to Matsebula, the Eswatini side have a major advantage over Orlando Pirates. The team knows all about Bucs.

On the opposite end, Leopard are a closed book to the Soweto giants.

“We know how they play. We know their strengths and their weaknesses. We have prepared according to what we know,” Matsebula added.

“I don’t know if they know us, but we know them better than they will know us. So, this is an advantage for us because even if they can make changes, it won’t be that much where it can hurt us.

“But they are a very strong team and a big team, but inside the field of play, we cannot respect them. We respect them as a big [club] but not inside a field of play. They are not a difficult team to play against.”
