AL AHLY VS MAMELODI SUNDOWNS IN THE CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

We are now just counting hours before Kabo Yellow step on the pitch to battle Africa’s greatest ever club. The occasion is a CAF Champions League Group A fixture in Cairo, Egypt on Friday night at 21:00.

Sundowns go into the game as group leaders with four points after two games, thanks to a win over Al-Hilal as well as a drab and disappointing goalless draw against Al-Merrikh.

Friday’s opponents Ahly, have only played one game which was a goalless draw against Al-Hilal.

The DStv Premiership champions have meanwhile shared images from Wednesday’s training session in the North African nation.

Check out the snaps below as shared by Sundowns via social media. The brief gallery includes Teboho Mokoena, Brian Mandela Onyango, and Surprise Ralani looking rather relaxed.

“The boys putting in a solid shift this afternoon in Cairo as the team prepares for this weekend’s #TotalEnergiesCAFCL clash!” the club’s caption said.

PITSO MOSIMANE MOURNS RIKY RICK

Staying with Mosimane, the former Bafana Bafana coach took some time out of his preparations to respond to the death of Mzansi’s late artist Riky Ricky who committed suicide on Wednesday morning.

As The South African reported on Wednesday, the rapper Rikhado ‘Riky Rick’ Makhando passed away in a reported suicide death at the age of 34.

While Mzansi is still reeling in disbelief, tributes have been pouring in from hundreds of musicians, actors, and fashion artists across South Africa, Africa as well as the United States. The messages of condolences have now crossed over to football, with the major figure of Pitso Mosimane sending his love to the fallen artist. Read the full story here.
