Kaizer Chiefs travel to Free State this weekend to participate in the 2022 Macufe Cup.

Amakhosi will face Royal AM on Sunday 25 September with kickoff scheduled for 15:00 in Bloemfontein.

Kaizer Chiefs boss Zwane stresses importance of Macufe Cup

Even though it’s a friendly match, Arthur Zwane isn’t taking it lightly. He believes the game comes at a good time before the next official match for his team, which is an MTN8 semi-final first-leg clash against AmaZulu on 2 October.

“We need the game because we want to improve on certain aspects of our game. We want to get our chemistry right and also give some other players a chance to play because we want to keep everyone at the same level of fitness,” said Zwane.

“We need to use the match get to try combinations and get them right for the games coming up in October because we will play seven official matches,” he added. “We look forward to seeing Amakhosi supporters in Mangaung and the Free State because it has been long since we played there.”

Kickoff, as stated, is 15:00 on Sunday at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.
