Keen eyes will be on Chiefs new recruit Leonardo Castro who could turn up against his old side on Saturday.

Before a ball has been kicked in January, Kaizer Chiefs have wasted no time in strengthening their ranks just five days into the mid-season transfer window.

The Glamour boys welcome four new recruits to the first team, following some swift business since the turn of the year. There are three new signings, plus one exciting talent promoted to the senior squad.

Who have Kaizer Chiefs signed in the January Transfer Window?

Leonardo Castro, Forward

The 28-year-old Colombian hotshot joined from Mamelodi Sundowns on 1st January 2018. But Castro is a wanted man. Not only did Chiefs hammer out a contract agreement weeks before the window opened, but French Ligue 1 side Amiens have been courting his signature. It has since been confirmed he will stay in SA.

Siphelele Ntshangase, Attacking Midfielder

Signed from this year’s surprise PSL package Baroka FC, Ntshangase provides another attacking option for Steve Komphela’s side. He has pulled the strings in Baroka’s rise to fourth this year, but the lure of the Naturena was too strong to ignore.

Kabelo Mahlasela, Attacking Midfielder

In a league that is goal-stricken, you can understand why Kaizer Chiefs are attempting to break the deadlock. Mahlasela is another versatile attacker who can play anywhere across the front-line. He’s made the switch from Bloemfontein Celtic, and the 26-year-old has the sharp technical awareness to light up Johannesburg.

Who is Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya?

There will be another new name in the Chiefs’ 20-man squad travelling to Supersport tomorrow. Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya has earned a promotion to the senior squad, following a series of dashing performances in the youth team.

Aged just 21, it seems the speedy left-back is ready to mix it with the big boys. Bobby Motaung has praised his development, and said that Ntiya-Ntiya is “ready for the big stage”.

SNN was born in the Eastern Cape town of Bizana, in 1996. When speaking to Kaizer Chiefs’ website, he said his role model is Tsepo Masilela – a defender he could well be replacing in the years to come.

Amakhosi travel to Supersport United tomorrow evening, in a 18:00 kick-off. They’re looking to close the six-point gap to table-toppers Mamelodi Sundowns tomorrow, and their new recruits could all feature in this crunch match.
