1) KHAMA BILLIAT – R16.8 MILLION

The former Mamelodi Sundowns striker is the most valuable player in the Chiefs squad despite hardly featuring since he was signed over from the defending 2020/21 DStv Premiership champions. The 30-year-old striker has had a season ravished with injury and is currently sidelined as we speak.

The Zambian international striker has been a shadow of his former self when he has played though. Lacking confidence in front of goal and lacking the finishing prowess that brought him so much success at Sundowns.

Expect his market value to drop even more unless he returns to the form that gave him such a big price tag in the first place.

2) SIBUSISO MABILISO- R13.9 MILLION

Amakhosi have found themselves a quality left-back worthy of being the most valuable South African in the team.

At the tender age of 22, Mabiliso still has well over a decade of football ahead of him. The strong defender also lends himself forward to attack. He had a strong showing for Bafana Bafana against Uganda and will over SA football so much in the years ahead.

Mabiliso is a brick wall on defense ad a man capable of providing quality assists to his forwards. Chiefs will hope to hold on to this star for many years to come.

3) DANIEL CARDOSA – R13.5 MILLION

The Portuguese-born centre-back is the most valuable European footballer at Amakhosi (in rands). He has recently missed out on a starting spot at the expense of the rising star, Njabulo Blom who’s price tag should rise tremendously if Chiefs manage to win their maiden CAF Champions League.

Cardosa has the quality to bounce back but he has to fight for his position now more than ever. The other CB is none other than club legend, Eric Mathoho.

He may be worth the most but this could change soon given the form of Mathoho and Blom at the back.

4) SIFISO HLANTI – R13.1 MILLION

Hlanti is a veteran of SA club football having featured for the likes of Golden Arrows, Mamelodi Sundowns, Amazulu and Swallows FC.

He has brought so much to the PSL and South African football over the last decade.

The Chiefs defender also finds himself facing stiff competition in Mabiliso. It seems Molefi Ntseki’s focus on the youth is dawning in a new era of stars for Chiefs.

5) ITUMELENG KHUNE – R11.4 MILLION

Khune is a father of two, a Bafana Bafana and Chiefs legend. The 34-year-old is worth over R11 Million rand!

He recently extended his stay with the side and believes he still has so much to bring to this club. It would be truly fitting to give the true Amakhosi legend a first-ever CAF Champions League trophy. The former Bafana Bafana keeper is yet another club legend who currently benches for a rising star. Bruce Bvuma has been a revolution during his rise to heroism at the club.

Blom is likely to start in the CAF Champions League final with Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard backing Bvuma to date.

Club legends Eric Mathoho, Willard Katsande and Bernard Parker missed this list but will still be widely respected for their years of excellence at this club.

Chiefs enter their maiden final looking to give their club legends a send-off they deserve, conquering Africa and securing Amakhosi’s first-ever star!
