Kaizer Chiefs are back in continental action when they face Angolan giants Primiero De Agosto on Wednesday evening in a CAF Champions League second round clash.

It will be a stern test of character for Kaizer Chiefs when the 13 time Girabola Champions travel to South Africa to face the struggling Amakhosi in the first of two-legs at the FNB Stadium.

Primeiro de Agosto are no strangers to continental football having participated in the CAF Champions League on 18 previous occasions. The Angolan side made it to the semi-finals in 2018 before going down against eventual champions Esperance De Tunis courtesy of a 3-4 on aggregate scoreline.

Primeiro de Agosto key players

Mabululu – The 31-year-old striker scored four goals in last season’s CAF Champions League group stage round and will undoubtedly be the man for Kaizer Chiefs to watch out for. He’s made 13 international appearances for Angola while scoring five goals and will likely lead the attack for the visitors.

Massunguna Alex Afonso – The experienced captain will be looking to marshall his troops at the FNB Stadium when they face Kaizer Chiefs. Massunguna has bags of experience on the continent while also making over 50 appearances for the Angolan national team.

Emmanuel Ngudikama – The former AS Vita winger will pose a great threat against Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday evening. The DR Congo attacker is pacey and tricky and will give Gavin Hunt’s full-backs a tough time.

Action at the FNB Stadium is scheduled to get underway at 18:00 on Wednesday evening between Kaizer Chiefs and Primeiro de Agosto. The return leg in Angola is set to take place on 06 January 2021. The winner will book their place in the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League group stage round.
