Davids, who joined the organisation in 2019 as an assistant coach, will leave Pirates upon the expiration of his contract at the end of this month.

Pirates released the following statement:

Ever professional and always disciplined in his approach, Mr Davids leaves the Club having performed his duties in an exemplary manner.

Meanwhile, the Club can also confirm the departure of Head Performance Analyst Darian Wilken.

Mr Wilken has expressed his intention to head into coaching which is a decision the Club respects and supports. There is no doubt that he will be an asset to the South African football industry one day.

On behalf of the Club, we would like to wish both Mr Davids and Mr Wilken all the best in their future endeavours.

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates may soon be set to welcome Miguel Timm to Soweto as the Buccaneers look to refine their squad for next season.

Timm was expected to make a transfer to Sekhukhune United, but SABC Sport has exclusively revealed that Pirates have hijacked the deal, and the 30-year-old is now set to become a Buccaneer.

Timm had also been linked with Chiefs as he was poised to become a free agent on 30 June, although the expectation was that he would be heading to Sekhukhune. Gallants apparently also moved to offer him a new contract.

Yet, Pirates have now seen an opportunity to their creative option in central midfield, with Timm set to join Tapelo Xoki and Bienvenu Eva Nga in Soweto.

Meanwhile, reports coming out of Ghana have suggested that striker Kwame Peprah may well opt to leave Orlando Pirates in the upcoming transfer window as he feels this could serve him best in pursuit of representing the Black Stars at the FIFA World Cup.

According to FootballGhana, the chances of him being selected for the national side would improve should he make the move to Europe, which could mean he leaves Pirates after just one season at the club.

Timm, Xoki and Eva Nga in, Mhango out for Pirates

Mhango has been conspicuous by his absence from regular action at the Pirates this season, and it was always expected that he would leave the club at the end of the season.

Mhango has been linked with both Pirates and Chiefs, but is has finally been confirmed that he will instead be heading to AmaZulu.

Interestingly, AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu has also confirmed that there will be another key player deal with Pirates, with Thapelo Xoki – who featured prominently for Usuthu this season – set to join the Buccaneers.

“We have 30 players not including MDC, we will release 13 and some of them are running out of contract, we won’t renew, we will sign eight players and have already spoken with some,” Zungu told Ukhozi FM.

“Dr Irvin Khoza did contact me personally about Thapelo Xoki and we’ve spoken. I respect him for the way he handled it, so Xoki will leave us, he played his last game yesterday and Gabadinho Mhango is joining us.”
