Khune impressed by Gabadinho Mhango wonder goal at AFCON

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has given credit to Orlando Pirates star Gabadinho Mhango for his stunning strike at AFCON 2021.

Mhango scored a goal of the tournament contender with a truly stunning effort in Malawi’s last 16 clash against Morocco on Tuesday night, which caught the attention of the football world, including Khune.

Mhango’s long-range strike opened the scoring for Malawi early on as he continued his impressive form in the competition. The stunning effort was ultimately in vain as Morocco progressed to the quarter-finals, but Mhango was understandably credited with “one of the greatest goals in Africa Cup of Nations history”.

Khune responds to social media comment

One Twitter user commented that legendary goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune would have never conceded such a goal, but he responded with due praise for the super strike.
