RIGHT-BACK – THAPELO MORENA

The Mamelodi Sundowns right-back is one of the best in the DStv Premiership. He carries vital international experience for the national side.

Morena is a quality player capable of turning defense into attack and bringing calm around him with his cool head.

CENTRE-BACKS – RUSHINE DE REUCK & SIYANDA XULU

De Reuck is a gifted defender in fine form for Mamelodi Sundowns. He will want to stamp his authority against the dangerous Knowledge Musona.

Xulu will be determined to use every bit of his experience gained in Israel to ensure he maintains a clean sheet at the back.

LEFT-BACK – AUSTIN DUBE/ SIBUSISO MABILISO

Dube was extremely impressive during BAFANA BAFANA’S COSAFA Cup triumph and could well earn his competitive debut for the national side.

Mabiliso was one of the stand-out performers for Broos’ side back when they defeated Uganda back in June and is one of the finest young talents in the country. The two Chiefs men will be hoping for stars having not started for Amakhosi since signing to Naturena.

CENTRAL MIDFIELDER – TEBOHO MOKOENA

The SuperSport midfielder was one of the best players for the U23 side in the Tokyo Olympics in Japan.

The exciting young player could be deployed just in front of the defense to create a solid link between defense and attack. Mothobi Mvala is doubtful for this fixture due to an unfortunate injury.

CENTRAL MIDFIELDER – SIYETHEMBE SITHEBE

The 2021 Cosafa Cup Player of the Tournament has put his hand up for a starting birth.

After showing his worth on both attack and defence, the tireless midfield has staked a massive claim for the starting birth.

ATTACKING MIDFIELDER – SIPHO MBULE

Mbule is one of the hottest rising prospects in the PSL.

He was sought after by Chiefs and has been a standout for SuperSport this season. Mbule has a knack for scoring and creating goals and is a constant attacking threat.

RIGHT FORWARD – PERCY TAU

The Lion of Judah is ready to roar for Bafana Bafana against the Warriors of Zimbabwe.

He has been craving game time and will certainly get ample time to return to his best against Zimbabwe and Ghana. Tau was named vice-captain by Broos and is a natural leader on the pitch.

LEFT FORWARD – VICTOR LETSOALO

A hat-trick on debut against Lesotho showed us the danger of this man upfront.

Letsoalo became the second South African to achieve this after the legendary Benni McCarthy. He certainly deserves a chance to start for Bafana Bafana.

CENTRE FORWARD – EVIDENCE MAKGOPA

A brace on debut against Uganda set the tone for what promises to be an exciting future for the national side.

Makgoba is a clinical finisher. Working with Letsoalo and Tau spells havoc for any opposition defenders. A trio capable of unlocking many opportunities and goals for Broos’ side.
