Brockie has signed a professional contract with Edgewood FC; a New South Wales subdivision of the National Premier League.

The 33-year-old has been without a club since leaving the Brazilians over a year ago.

At the time, he was on the books of Maritzburg United on loan before Sundowns made the decision to release him.

His career took a nosedive when he left SuperSport United for Sundowns less than three years ago.

He ensured a frustrating spell with the Chloorkop-based side before the Team of Choice offered to help him rediscover his old form.

Edgewood football administrator Warren Mills expressed delight at getting to work with Brockie, who was once one of the most respected strikers in the PSL.

“With [Brockie] and then Kristian back, it’s a classy duo to get,” said Mills to Newcastle Herald.

“He’s 33 and been a professional player all his career and he’s played 60-odd times for New Zealand, so he’s a decent player. I think it’s a massive signing for us,” added Mills.

Details of Brockie’s contract with Edgewood are still undisclosed but the lanky striker would hope to revive his career.
