Former Orlando Pirates striker Tokelo Rantie has found a new home in the PSL after almost a year on the sidelines.

Soccer Laduma reports that Rantie has signed a short-term deal with Tshakhuma Tsha Mandzivhandila (TTM) as he looks to revive his football career.

According to TTM marketing and communications manager Livhuwani Madzuhe, the former Bucs and AFC Bournemouth marksman will be with the club until June with an option to renew for a year.

Furthermore, Rantie could make his debut for the struggling PSL rookies as he’s among the 20 players in camp for the SuperSport United match.

“He has a contract until June, with an option,” Madzuhe told the publication.

“He is looking good and he is part of the 20 players who are in the camp right now for the game against SuperSport, which means he has impressed the technical team.”

Rantie’s career took a nosedive whilst on the books of Premier League side Bournemouth a few years ago.

He returned home and had brief spells with Cape Town City and Mamelodi Sundowns in attempt to get his career back on track but off-field issues hampered his progress.

But the former Bafana Bafana international is now willing to prove a point, according to Madzuhe.

“He told us that he wants to revamp his career and we can see that he is someone who wants to prove a point. He wants to play.

“I don’t see any negative behaviour currently. We are impressed on the management side. That’s why we did not hesitate to sign him,” concluded Madzuhe.
