Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United contract has been terminated with immediate effect.

Manchester United confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that te Ronaldo will leave the club by mutual agreement.

In a short statement posted on the Manchester United website, the club said:

Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.

The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.

Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.

In the interview, Ronaldo spoke about disrespect he has been getting from Man United manager Erik ten Haag and several individuals within the organisation, while also accusing the club of betrayal.

While the interview caused outrage among Manchester United supporters all over social media, the club’s initial response was to launch its own investigation into the circumstances surrounding Ronaldo’s 90-minute interview.
