Manchester United’s new first team assistant coach Benni McCarthy has been on the receiving end of some HARSH criticism after the team suffered yet another humiliating loss this weekend.

The Red Devils were embarrassed 4-0 by minnows Brentford in their English Premier League clash on Saturday.

That result, coupled with Manchester United’s 2-1 opening day defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion – where their one goal was actually an own goal – means in 180 minutes the English giants have yet to find the back of the net.

Manchester United are also BOTTOM of the log – the first time in 30 years that that has happened and they trail cross-town rivals Manchester City by six points at this early stage of the season.

As reported by The South African website, McCarthy was rather shockingly appointed as a first-team coach ahead of the season and die-hard Manchester United fans in Mzansi have been quick to blame him for their latest loss.

Some joked McCarthy may had given coaching instructions in Afrikaans and confused the team on how they needed to play.

No easy task ahead for Manchester United

Things don’t get any easier for Manchester United – or McCarthy – as their next match is at home against Liverpool on Monday, 22 August at 21:00 (SA time).
