Rashford scored again for the Red Devils at the weekend in their 2-0 win away to Leeds. Teenage Argentine Alejando Garnacho scored the other goal to keep United in the title race. Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes Bafana legend Benni McCarthy should be credited for the improvement of Man United star Marcus Rashford in the Premier League.

Rashford’s form that has caught the eye of Arsenal legend Ian Wright who believes the introduction of the South Africa legend has benefited the versatile forward.
“I think the acquisition of Benni McCarthy, a striker coach, has helped him,” Wright said as quoted by Give Me Sport.
“When you look at the movement for that goal… it was brilliant. And that says to me that someone like Benni McCarthy’s working very closely with him. He has improved no end.”

Another theory is that the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo has singlehandedly allowed Marcus Rashford to flourish as the centre-piece in United’s attack. it’s a theory that carries a lot of weight.
Rashford struggled in front of goal in 2021-22, scoring just four league goals last term. Since McCarthy’s arrival in July 2022, the England man has flourished. Only Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Ivan Toney have scored more EPL goals than Rashford’s 12 this term. He’s already trebled last season’s tally and there are still 15 matches left in United’s league season. Is it a coincidence that when Ronaldo left, Rashford found himself?
