It might be the end of the road at Kaizer Chiefs for Khama Billiat with the lack of information coming from the club about his future.

The only good news is on the situation is that an announcement is expected shortly.

The increasing feeling for quite some time has been that Khama Billiat is in his final chapter with Chiefs, with recent reports suggesting the 32-year-old’s contract is unlikely to be renewed when it expires after this season.

A month without any updates

It could bring an end to his five-year stint at Naturena, which has largely failed to live up to its hype since his move from Mamelodi Sundowns.

It’s been a month since thesouthafrican.com reported that he needed to take a salary cut to stay for another season at Chiefs.

At the time, it was reported that Billiat needed to drop his salary by 50%. Some sources suggested Billiat earned more than R500 000 per month.

Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane is apparently keen for Billiat remain at the club, but it remains to be seen how negotiations progress, and whether he would accept a pay cut if that is the condition in question.
