Carling Black Label Cup: Downs beat AmaZulu to advance to final

Mamelodi Sundowns are through to the final of the Carling Black Label Cup following their 3-0 win over AmaZulu on Saturday.

Mamelodi Sundowns are through to the final of the Carling Black Label Cup following their 3-0 win over AmaZulu on Saturday.

An own goal by AmaZulu coupled with Haashim Domingo and Bradley Ralani goals sealed the win for the Brazilians on the day.

As expected, Sundowns dominated ball possession from the word go, and Cassius Mailula’s attempted goal deflected off AmaZulu defender to beat Veli Mothwa.

Usuthu tried to be resilient afterwards but it was Sundowns who created some good goalscoring opportunities going into the half-time break.

The second half belonged to Sundowns, but AmaZulu didn’t fold their arms as they also launched a number of attacks.

However, it was Sundowns who doubled the lead in the 69th minute through Domingo who neatly slotted the ball past Mothwa.

Ralani then sealed what was a comfortable win with a sublime curler which beat Mothwa hands down in the 79th minute.
