Undefeated Sundowns reach CAF Women’s Champions League semis!

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have reached the semi-finals of the CAF Women’s Champions League unbeaten from their group.

Banyana Ba Style won their opening two group matches to move to six points, and they needed a draw against ASFAR of Morocco on Friday.

They did just that at El Salam Stadium in Cairo, playing to a goalless draw with the Moroccan giants and subsequently booking their place in the competition’s last four.

Sundowns Ladies will now face Malabo Kings of Equatorial Guinea in the semi-finals with a place in the final at stake.

Jerry Tshabalala’s charges are looking to emulate the Sundowns’ men team by becoming the first Southern African side to win the continental crown.

Bafana Ba Style achieved that feat, in the new format, in 2016 when they defeated Zamalek on aggregate to win their first ever CAF Champions League crown.
