BREAKING: SuperSport and CAF reach ground-breaking TV agreement

The Confederation of African Football and South African pay channel SuperSport have reportedly reached a ground-breaking football agreement.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and South African pay channel SuperSport have reportedly reached a ground-breaking football agreement.

According to reports, this season’s CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup will be screened LIVE on SuperSport.

The agreement will kick off with the group stages of both tournament from next week.

It’s been more than two years since SuperSport televised either the CAF Champions League or the CAF Confederation Cup.

“We are pleased to confirm that we have acquired rights to the CAF national team and club competitions as per the attached schedule. We will broadcast matches and events of those competitions which are produced and made available by CAF to its licensed broadcasters,” said a MultiChoice spokesperson when approached by Soccer Laduma for comment.

Egypt’s Al Ahly are the defending CAF Champions League winners while Raja Club Athletic won last season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

Mzansi will be represented by Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu in the CAF Champions League and by Orlando Pirates in the CAF Confederation Cup.
