Orlando Pirates return to CAF Confederation Cup action when they travel to the Benjamin Mkapa stadium in Tanzania to face Simba SC in a crucial quarter-final first leg clash.

The Buccaneers face off against the Tanzanian giants in the first of a blockbuster two-legged tie this evening and action gets underway at 18:00 SA time.
Orlando Pirates booked their place in the last eight of the CAF Confederation Cup after finishing top of Group B while the hosts finished in second place in D.

It’s the first time the two African giants are meeting. The second leg will take place at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, a week later!

“It’s a tough match. Our analyst has already gone through their key players, their structure, the way Simba SC play,” Orlando Pirates co-coach Fadlu Davids said as quoted by FarPost.
“We know they are going to allow 60,000 fans in, full capacity at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium, so we are emotionally ready for the match number one.
“We have to pick the players up. We have to keep the focus on what is lying ahead for Orlando Pirates. We will miss Paseka Mako. I am sure he will be out of the game.
“But then we have to do it for him [after his horrific accident during the previous match]. We have to go there and be brave and pull up the sleeves and roll up the face in the first leg.”
