Mamelodi Sundowns new signing Rushine de Reuck could make his debut in the CAF Champions League this weekend.

The Brazilians host Al Hilal of Sudan in their opening match of Group B on Saturday.

According to co-coach Rhulani Mokwena, De Reuck is in contention as he recently started training with the team.

Mokwena further confirmed that the former Maritzburg United defender has been registered for the continental tournament.

“De Reuck has started training this week. He trained with us officially on his birthday [on Tuesday],” Mokwena told the media.

“And‚ yeah‚ he’s registered for Caf,” he added.

The 25-year-old joined the Tshwane giants on a long-term deal to reinforce the club’s defence.

Apart from that, De Reuck is seen by many as a direct replacement for the late Motjeka Madisha; the suggestion Mokwena dismissed.
