In Friday’s other match in Group A, bottom side Al-Hilal upset Sudanese compatriots Al-Merrikh 1-0.
Al-Merrikh were reduced to 10 men in the 52nd minute when defender Emad Ali was shown a second yellow card.
Al-Hilal scored the only goal of the match in the 84th minute through striker Yasir Mozamil Mohamed.
Mamelodi Sundowns v Al Ahly kicks off at 15:00
Al-Merrikh, considered the better of the two Sudan side in Group A, dropped to the bottom of the group with just two matches remaining.
Both Sudan sides still have to play Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly.

Mamelodi Sundowns will take on Al Ahly at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 12 March at 15:00.
