Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to put their historic 4-0 loss against Wydad Casablanca behind them when they host Angolan giants Petro Atletico this evening.

Gavin Hunt’s Kaizer Chiefs are in desperate need of a victory having gone eight games in all competitions without a single victory. The Amakhosi sit in 3rd place in Group C in the CAF Champions League, a point ahead of their opponents after two games.

Take a look at the personnel Gavin Hunt has opted to do battle for Kaizer Chiefs in their crunch CAF Champions League clash below

Kaizer Chiefs XI:

Akpeyi, Mathoho, Cardoso, Zulu, Frosler, Katsande, Mashiane, Ngcobo, Manyama, Parker, Kambole.

Subs: Bvuma, Baccus, Blom, Lesako, Sasman, Matsheke, Ngezana

We have to be realistic – Hunt

“If you look at the history of the competition, 12 points gets you in, 10 points gets you in, so we’ve still got four games left,” Kaizer Chiefs head coach Gavin Hunt said during his pre-match press conference.

“We’re going to have to win both our home games and certainly win one of the away games, so that’s pretty clear. Of course, Wydad have been in the final twice in the last five years, so let’s be honest and realistic about these things and they are in a different space, that’s for sure.

“Horoya, I think, were in the Confed Cup final a year or two ago as well, so these are big teams. Petro Luanda are a big team in Angola, with good pedigree and loads of experience. We’re under no illusions. Obviously for a club of Kaizer Chiefs’ size, we need to do better, there’s no doubt about it, but you’ve got to take it all into consideration, where, how, what.

“But when you play these teams at home vs when you play them away from home are totally different, it’s not like a normal domestic league game where teams just come out and have a go; these teams are much more tactically sound and they’re difficult games.”
