A top government official has made a desperate plea for Kaizer Chiefs’ squad to get vaccinated ahead of their trip to Morocco!

Gauteng MEC for education Panyaza Lesufi has urged government to vaccinate Kaizer Chiefs players ahead of the upcoming CAF Champions League final.
Kaizer Chiefs are due to travel to Morocco next week to face Al Ahly in Africa’s biggest club match in the CAF calendar, the Champions League final.
Lesufi believes vaccinating the Amakhosi players will serve as the best ‘ammunition’ against COVID-19 for Soweto giants who most recently suffered from a COVID-19 outbreak within their camp.
Kaizer Chiefs were rocked with COVID-19 cases ahead of the second leg CAF Champions League semi-final clash against Wydad Casablanca.
Both officials and players were missing from their squad as a result and Lesufi believes vaccinating the entire squad will avoid such a situation come next week.

The Gauteng MEC for education made a desperate plea to his fellow governmental leaders to vaccinate the Amakhosi players and technical members ahead of the Final.
“A special plea to have the entire Amakhosi camp (Kaizer Chiefs) vaccinated so that they can be ready to represent the country. On the eve of their semifinal match, almost half of the team fell victims of Covid-19. We need the entire team to be ready and fit to #BringCafCup home” a tweet from Lesufi read.
Kaizer Chiefs have started their preparations for the upcoming CAF Champions League final. The match takes place in Casablanca, Morocco on 17 July 2021.

This year’s final is a single legged clash and the winner between the Amakhosi and Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly will qualify for the prestigious FIFA Club World Cup.
