Kaizer Chiefs are on their way to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to face Simba SC for the return leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.

And they have travelled without a number of their first team players, including Khama Billiat, Darrel Matsheke, and Dumisani Zuma amongst others.

But there are TWO players Amakhosi will miss dearly for this crucial encounter against the Tanzanian giants.

Those players are Khama Billiat and Dumisani Zuma. The duo are out injured and will watch from home as their Chiefs teammates battle it out against Simba.

Not, only will their absence have an impact on how the team is structured on the day, but playing without them could have serious consequences WHEN Chiefs secure their place in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.

Chiefs hold a four-goal advantage over Simba, and it would take a miracle for the home side to overturn the scoreline.

KHAMA BILLIAT

Gavin Hunt has already lamented Billiat’s absence this season, saying he’s hardly had a chance to play him.

This is because the Zimbabwean talisman has struggled with long-term injuries since the start of the campaign.

Billiat returned to help Chiefs advance to the semi-finals in that 2-2 draw away to Horoya AC in March following a two-month injury lay-off.

And Hunt would undoubtedly miss his big-match temperament against a team that’s been dominant in the Tanzanian league.

Billiat has scored just once in five CAF Champions League matches for Chiefs this season, but his presence on the pitch has made a huge difference for the Naturena-based outfit.

DUMISANI ZUMA

Dumisani Zuma

Zuma may have a total of 69 CAF Champions League minutes under his belt this season but he’s remains a key cog in that attacking midfield position for Chiefs.

With four CAF matches to date, some may feel Zuma hasn’t done enough – but his contribution in the last two matches says otherwise.

Zuma, 25, came on as a 55th-minute substitute against Horoya to provide an assist for Billiat to finish and seal Amakhosi’s passage to the Last 8.

He was unfortunate to suffer a knee injury in the first leg against Simba as he had cracked the nod to be in the starting line-up for the first time in this season’s competition.
