However, Hunt described the experience as ‘crazy’ but admitted it was part and parcel of playing against other African teams in CAF inter-club competitions.

Wydad came with the purpose of frustrating Chiefs in the second leg with their players faking injuries and often looking to get their opponents booked.

And Hunt feels even Spanish giants Barcelona would struggle in Africa because of how tough playing against other African teams is.

“No, I don’t want to go there,” Hunt told reporters.

“It’s crazy. It’s just part and parcel. I’ve always said even Barcelona would struggle in Africa, because it’s tough.”

Chiefs needed to beat Wydad Casablanca to boost their chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League, and they did just that, recording a hard-fought 1-0 win at the FNB Stadium.

The win saw them move to eight points, and they need another big result away to Horoya AC in their final match to book their place in the quarter-finals.

As things stand, Horoya sit second on the Group C log, tied on points with Amakhosi while Wydad lead the pack with 10 points.

Chiefs travel to Conakry, Guinea to face Horoya on 10 April.
