Kaizer Chiefs | 3 reasons why Zwane and Sheppard are better suited than Baxter to coach Amakhosi against Wydad

Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard will officially coach Kaizer Chiefs in their clash against Wydad Casablanca.

Kaizer Chiefs announced on social media that Zwane and Sheppard will lead the side instead of the newly-appointed Stuart Baxter.

This article looks at three reasons why this is the correct choice in such a massive game.

1. FORM AND MOMENTUM IS KEY

Zwane and Sheppard were able to secure back-to-back victories in the final rounds of the DStv Premiership to ensure Chiefs’ finished in the top eight.

They have built momentum with this side since Gavin Hunt left and are technically, undefeated since Hunt’s exit.

Despite Baxter’s previous success at the club, he has not coached the side for several years. Zwane and Sheppard have been the men who have stood on the training ground with the side, the men that have been side-by-side with Amakhosi as they have started to find form.

It is key to carry this winning formula into what is the biggest match in the club’s history.
