Host city confirmed for CAF Confederation Cup final

A Confederation of African Football executive committee meeting in Kigali has chosen Cotonou in Benin to host the 2020/21 CAF Confederation League final.

A Confederation of African Football (CAF) executive committee meeting in Kigali on Saturday chose Cotonou in Benin to host the 2020/21 CAF Confederation League final.

The July 10 final of the CAF Confederation Cup – the African equivalent of the UEFA Europa League – will be staged in Cotonou, the commercial capital of Benin.

The Stade l’Amitie General Mathieu Kerekoua in Cotonou has a 20 000 capacity.

South Africa’s Orlando Pirates remain in contention to reach that final.

They will host tournament favourites Raja Casablanca in the first leg of their quarter-final clash at the Orlando Stadium on Sunday, 16 May at 15:00.

Meanwhile, Egypt was selected to host the first eight-team CAF Women’s Champions League tournament during the second half of this year on dates to be announced.
