However, the Soweto giants will be still be smarting after a disappointing 4-1 loss to Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals, despite following up on that result with a 2-0 triumph over Maritzburg United in midweek.

After the victory against Maritzburg United, Zinnbauer admitted it had been a tough clash for his players, especially with the Mamelodi Sundowns defeat still fresh in their minds.

“You know as a coach and as a player, after that game against Sundowns, we needed three points and the focus was on getting them [points] rather than the performances,” Zinnbauer told reporters.

“The result is good for us. It is not easy coming to play a match after losing the previous one hard.

ES Setif, meanwhile, find themselves sitting at the foot of Group A after one win, one draw and two defeats in their opening four group games.

The Black Eagles have enjoyed a mini resurgence in recent times, though, romping to a 3-0 victory over Enyimba before going on to strengthen their grip on top spot in the Algerian top flight with a 1-0 win over top-three hopefuls Kabylie.

They will undoubtedly be targeting more of the same as they prepare to do battle with Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium.

The last meeting between these two sides at Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra, Ghana ended in a goalless stalemate.
