CAF Champions League result | Kaizer Chiefs beaten badly in Burkina Faso

Kaizer Chiefs lost their CAF Champions League match against Wydad Athletic in Burkina Faso 2-0 on Saturday.

Kaizer Chiefs lost their CAF Champions League match against Moroccan side Wydad Athletic in Burkina Faso 4-0 on Sunday.

Wydad scored as early at the seventh minute when Mohammad Ounnajem guided home a loose ball as Amkhosi failed to clear their lines.

Wydad made it 2-0 a minute before half-time through a close-range header from Ayoub El Kaabi after Kaizer Chiefs once again failed to deal with the danger.

Wydad added a third two minutes before full-time after Simon Msuva lobbed goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune following poor defensive work once again by the South African side.

To add insult to injury, Kaizer Chiefs were reduced to 10 men when Ramahlwe Mphahlele saw red in stoppage time after giving away a penalty thanks to a handball.

Yahya Jabrane converted the penalty to hand Kaizer Chiefs a 4-0 hiding.

Kaizer Chiefs now find themselves in third place in Group C with one point and face a must-win next CAF Champions League clash at home against bottom side, Angola’s Petro de Luanda, next Saturday, 6 March.
