Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has issued a warning to Wydad Athletic Club ahead of their CAF Champions League final on Monday, 30 May.

Kick-off is at 21:00 (SA time).

The Red Devils made their way to the final by cruising past ES Setif in a dominant 6-2 win on aggregate.

Meanwhile, Wydad managed to overcome Petro de Luanda 4-2 to book their spot in the showpiece match.

Wydad will have the home advantage entering their first Champions League since 2017 while Al Ahly will be eyeing a third consecutive title.

The highly-anticipated final has been surrounded by controversy after CAF announced that the clash would take place at the Mohammed V Stadium in Morocco.

‘If we lose we won’t make excuses’ – Pitso Mosimane

“Both teams have come a long way to get here and we both expect to win. It will be a very difficult game,” Pitso Mosimane said in the press conference.

“I think that this match will have a very similar atmosphere to the one against Raja Casablanca in the quarter-finals.

“We will play without looking at the injured players, and our team is used to that. In the Club World Cup, we played without 11 of our key players.”

“We are in the final for the third year in a row. Our opponents should beware of Al Ahly and respect the club’s history.

“We will play and if we lose, we will not make excuses,” Pitso Mosimane added.
