AmaZulu welcome DR Congo giants TP Mazembe to the Moses Mabhida stadium in the CAF Champions League this afternoon.
Benni McCarthy’s side qualified for the final qualification round of the CAF Champions League after defeating Malawi’s Nyasa Big Bullets FC.

Benni wary of TP Mazembe’s pedigree
“No disrespect to Nyasa, but you cannot compare them to Mazembe. We cannot afford to let it slip against one of the biggest teams on the continent. They are a different breed altogether.” AmaZulu head coach Benni McCarthy said.
“We do not want to go to Lubumbashi needing to win the game. If we do that, we will suffer. We want to make our suffering a little bit more pleasant. If AmaZulu win by a big score, it will make our life a little bit easier. We are likely to lose the return leg, but if we win here 3-0, 3-1 or 2-0, we will be safe.
“We could not have asked for a bigger opponent. They are a powerhouse in Africa. We have to respect their history. We will not fear anything because we have passed the stage where we fear other teams. We respect them as a team but we don’t fear them.”
“As a player I never gave two monkeys about where you are from or what you have. I would think I’m equal or better than you. That is the belief I put in the AmaZulu players. I respect what you have done in the past but it means nothing in the present,”
