On Wednesday, as reported by The South African website, the struggling giants were held to a goalless draw by Pharco in the Egyptian Premier League.

In what was the only match of the night, South Africa’s Percy Tau thought he had scored, but his goal was controversially ruled out by VAR due to the Bafana Bafana striker being offsides.

After the match, the club announced a meeting to take place on Thursday, in order to discuss important matters and make consequential decisions.

“Al Ahly’s board of directors will hold a meeting on Thursday in the presence of Yassin Mansour, president of Al Ahly FC’s company, to take several important decisions,” the statement said.

Whether the meeting concerns new coach Ricardo Soares who took over when Pitso Mosimane stepped down, or players to be sold – including Percy Tau – remains to be seen.
