WHAT THIS WIN MEANS TO THE PEOPLE OF NORTHERN CAPE

A proud Thabo Mothibi said: “For us in the Northern Cape, let the Banyana Banyana euphoria flow into the future with a resolve to support women’s football. Let us be reminded that we have a De Aar-based outfit #RichmondUnitedLadiesFC in SA’s topmost tier of women’s football #HollywoodbetsSuperLeague where the bulk of our female stars are from”.

He went on, “Yes indeed, let us be reminded that Banyana’s prolific striker Nthabiseng Majiya is from Richmond United Ladies FC and was the youngest player in the squad. She performed with aplomb, scoring a critical goal in the tournament #TotalEnergiesWAFCON2022″.

Mothibi further said, “Thank you #banyana for a great advert for SA’s women’s football. Let this victory inject sharper focus and investment into women’s football from grassroots to professional ranks. Thank you to all the foot soldier administrators at amateur level, the former stars such as Portia Modise and all those that kept taking us to the finals. It has been a long journey. Thank you!!”
