Banyana Banyana assemble ahead of friendly with World Cup hosts

Banyana Banyana have reported for camp in Johannesburg to prepare for their friendly with 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup hosts Australia.

Banyana Banyana have reported for camp in Johannesburg to prepare for their international friendly with 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup hosts Australia.

The match will take place in the United Kingdom on Saturday, 8 October at the Kingsmeadow stadium in London.

The South African senior women’s team had their first training session on Monday evening and will have their second on Tuesday afternoon.

The friendly is part of the team’s continued preparations for the next year’s World Cup to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

Meanwhile, South Africa coach Desiree Ellis will know the identity of her side’s group opponents at the World Cup when she attends the tournament draw that will take place in New Zealand on 22 October 2022.
