Luke Le Roux reacts to his first Bafana Bafana call-up

One of the new faces in the recently named Bafana Bafana squad is Luke Le Roux who has described his first call-up as a “dream come true”.

South Africa will host Sierra Leone on 24 September and Botswana on 27 September at the FNB Stadium with both matches kicking off at 15:00.

Le Roux, who currently plies his trade at Varbergs BoIS in Sweden, has represented the national team’s lower ranks before, but has had to wait for quite some time to make his Bafana Bafana debut.

He says he will put in his maximum effort on the field should the opportunity to play arise.

LE ROUX ON HIS FIRST BAFANA BAFANA CALL-UP

“This is all I have dreamed of and lived for,” Le Roux told media at a press conference held at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto on Monday, 19 September 2022.

“This is my dream coming true and I’ll give it my all on game day if I’m given the chance.”

Other new faces in the camp are Sibongiseni Mthethwa – who has been the backbone of Stellenbosch this season in the DStv Premiership – and Mihlali Mayambela who currently plays for Aris Limassol in Cyprus.
